Dr. Heather Potter, a specialist in laser-assisted cataract extraction, will discuss vision issues in older adults. She will explain age-related eye diseases and conditions (such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataract) and the impact they have on different parts of the eye.
Dr. Potter received her medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship at UW Hospital and Clinics. In addition to seeing patients and teaching, she is involved with several clinical trials through the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Dr. Potter, who has more than 20 years of experience treating visual impairment and blindness, serves as Service Chief of Comprehensive Ophthalmology in the School of Medicine and Public Health. She also leads the Ophthalmic Pathology Service, which supports patient diagnostics from across the state and offers a unique, immersive experience for residents, fellows, and collaborators.
